Chapter Two
The Cut, From Underneath
Hands releasing the relief from the underside — surgical scissors along the stitch lines, by feel. No face. Loop, 15–30 sec.
Desktop: 1920×1080 (16:9) · Mobile: 1080×1920 (9:16)
The fabric is hand-tensioned on the hoop before a single stitch is placed. Zero tolerance for drift — the slightest shift would destroy the rhythm of the motif before it begins.
The cut is made from the underside — never from the top, never visible until the structure is turned. Working by feel alone, the line of the stitches is followed, releasing the relief from beneath.
There is no faux fur, no raised underlay structure beneath the Fingerprint. It is flat-relief embroidery — depth is built by varying the density and direction of thread passes alone.
One maker. No team. Every Fingerprint is cut, tensioned and released by the same hand — Darius Migula's.
Tension on the Hoop
Close, hand-tensioning the fabric on the hoop before the first stitch. Natural light, no styling. Portrait 1600×2000.
Chapter Three
The fingerprint motif is not a graphic. It is not printed. It is not embroidered over an underlay. It is a pure flat-relief structure — a signature built into the cloth through tension, direction, and a surgical cut.
The ridges are not traced from a template. They are placed by reading the cloth beneath — following the direction of the grain, responding to the tension already present from the surrounding embroidery. Each Fingerprint motif is shaped in part by the piece it appears on. The cloth determines the final line.
Same motif. Same method. Same hand. But the result shifts entirely with the backing colour.— Darius Migula
Fingerprint Motif Plates
Straight-on macro of the finished motif, flat-relief, both colourways. Even, soft light — no harsh shadow across the ridges.

The same motif, the same method, the same hand. But the identity shifts entirely depending on how the colour is directed. The technique is identical. The result is dual. That is the point. A motif that looked identical regardless of the piece it was on would be a logo. The Fingerprint is not a logo.
The Underside Release
Wide shot of the reverse side post-cut — raw thread, the released structure, the underlay colour visible from behind.

The fingerprint is not a stamp. It is a record. A record of the hand, the tension, the cut. Every piece is a separate event.— Darius Migula
Chapter Four
The Fingerprint is more than a detail — it is its own piece in the world of Migula, carrying the brand's recognisable signature. The same motif, always in your chosen underlay colour.
The Fingerprint is not an applique. It's a signature stitched into the shirt from the first thread — the embroidery lines are cut from the underside, by feel, to release the structure of the motif. There's no cut around the motif, no edge or outline like an applique — the form emerges from within the fabric, as if it had always been there. Only the depth of the underlay lifts above the surface, creating relief up to 3 cm.
Your backing colour becomes your permanent identifier in the world of Migula — you can order the same signature on future pieces, from The Tension line to BESTIA. A recognisable bridge between you and the master.
